Arrival & Esna — Board the Dahabiya

Drive from Luxor to Esna. Visit the Temple of Esna, restored
caravanserai and market, then board and sail to El Hegz Village.We drive about an hour from Luxor to Esna, home port of the Dahabiya.
Here we explore the Temple dedicated to the ram-headed god Khnum,
excavated below street level from layers of earth.

We discover heritage craft traditions at the restored Wekalet
Al-Geddawi caravanserai and the Ottoman-era market of Al-Qissariya.
We then board the Dahabiya and enjoy lunch as we sail 4–5 hours to El
Hegz Village for a cross-cultural exchange with a local family. Dinner
and your first night on the Nile.

El Kab & Edfu — Tombs & Temple of Horus

Sail to El Kab to explore New Kingdom tombs, then ride to the
magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu. Special barbeque dinner by
moonlight.
At El Kab, ancient settlements date from ~3,000 BC to Roman rule.
Explore mud-brick walls, tombs and shrines including temples to
Nekhbet and Thoth, and enter decorated New Kingdom tombs.
Sail to Edfu and visit the imposing Temple of Horus with its grand
spaces and extensive hieroglyphic inscriptions. If time allows, stroll
through the local market.
We sail on for an atmospheric barbeque dinner by moonlight.

Bisaw Island & El Selsela — Nile Life & Ancient Quarry

Visit Bisaw Island for a Nile fishing experience and farm walk. Sail to El
Selsela ancient sandstone quarry and shrines.
At Bisaw Island, walk through a farm, meet local women and children,
and join fishermen on their boats. Fish caught may feature at dinner.
Sail to El Selsela to visit shrines and the massive quarry where
sandstone was cut for temples in Thebes (Luxor). Explore the speos of
Horemheb with rock shrines and inscriptions.

Kom Ombo, Daraw & Nubian Village — Farewell Dinner

Visit Kom Ombo Temple and the Crocodile Museum. Explore Daraw
market and camel barn. Optional swim or kayak. Farewell dinner sailing
to Aswan.
Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo — dedicated to crocodile-god Sobek
and Horus — and the Crocodile Museum with its mummified
crocodiles.
In El Daraw, shop Egyptian-style in the market and visit a camel barn to
learn about the camel trade.
Visit a Nubian Town — one of the oldest civilisations in the Nile Valley,
tracing roots to 7,000 BC. Optional swim or kayak as we near Aswan
(request kayaks 2 days prior).
By the farewell dinner you will be wishing this was not your last night on
board.

Aswan — Departure

Breakfast on board and check out of the Dahabiya. Transfer to Aswan
airport or station.
Optional Aswan excursions available on your departure day: Philae
Temple, Unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam, Elephantine Island, Felucca
ride, Nubian Museum. Abu Simbel requires an extra full day.
