There is an advantage of having tour guide to travel with you from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back rather than having a local guide in Abu Simbel, the road duration is almost 3 and half hours each way which can be used in giving you a historical brief about the temples since the time there is very limited and tour guides are not allowed to guide you inside the temples. While Abu Simbel, local guides have a very short time to give you a proper explanation about the temples and don’t have a global view of the history like other guides who normally lead tours in Abu Simbel, Aswan and other destinations
